More than 53 people lost their lives following an accident in Londiani, Western Kenya on Friday night. This is after a truck travelling to Rwanda lost control and swerved on a busy roadside market.

Most of those who lost their lives or were injured were traders and customers at the market and passengers on other vehicles along the busy highway that connects several East African cities with the port of Mombasa.

I spoke to Nigeria’s News Central TV’s Osarogie Ogbomwan & Olive Emodi putting the incident into the context of general road safety status in Kenya.
