The deaf are usually left out of meaningful involvement in governance and civic processes due to communication barriers. In Kenya, a subscription-based app has been invented by young tech-enthusiasts to improve communication with the deaf community. This is expected to improve outcomes in health services provision, education, employment opportunities and inclusion in governance.
