Blessing Vava is a PhD fellow at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He holds an Honours and Masters of Arts degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. In his multi-faceted life Vava serves as the regional coordinator of Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition, publicist for Chimurenga Music and blogger (The Vuvuzela Times). He has previously served as national spokesperson for Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) and also sat on the secretariat of the National Constitutional Assembly (NCA), a constitutional reform movement. While at the NCA, Vava acted as Director of Information and Publicity. He has published articles on politics, constitutional reform, human rights and music. His student activism and media advocacy have earned him many encounters with Zimbabwe's security agents over the years.
